The Trade's History
Indian Barbers
The Indian barber is a unique profession that has evolved through the eras.
Historically, barbers belonged to an occupational caste and served numerous important social duties in India. They acted as confidants, messengers, mediators, assistant priests and even surgeons!
In colonial time, many adopted Western barber skills to serve British patrons.
Today, they have developed into an unique art of their own, blending both traditional and modern techniques; while being known for their skills with blades and the head massage they provide.
